Last year I met an incredible woman, Serina Bird who had just quit her full time job to explore the possibilities of being a solo-entrepreneur!
Serina had published a book ‘The Joyful Frugalista’ and had numerous writing and speaking gigs where she spread the word about the possibilities of living frugally along with still having everything you need and living a very happy and fulfilling life. I loved her message and values and found that they aligned very closely with my own.
Already having very successful branding for her Joyful Frugalista business, I wasn’t sure if we would have the opportunity to work together, until she approached me with her new venture, The Joyful Business Club. An avenue to support other small businesses with advice, information and a Facebook group network.
She wanted the new branding to align with her existing business, coming under the same umbrella but emoting a different message. I created a simple logo and branding for this using the existing colours in a new way and still incorporating the coins which she loved from her first brand.
Fast forward to the end of 2020 and Serina told me of her latest brain-child, The Joyful Fashionista. This was a much larger and more ambitious project, where she wished to create an online community for people to buy & sell second-hand, high quality, brand clothing and accessories. She wanted an easy online system for people to find exactly what they are looking for, without having to scour op-shops for that ‘lucky find’. I think it is an amazing idea, being socially conscious and another frugalista-inspired venture.
I could not wait to help her discover this new brand. We both agreed that this venture needed a new colour – something unique & fashionable, but we still wanted parts of the branding to tie in with her other brands. So this is the final result, which I love and Serina is super pleased with.
I also had the pleasure to attend the launch of the website and was gifted with one of her perfectly branded tote bags! I am so looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this ambitious endeavour.
